Dormgrandpop's Fall Dinner Schedule - This Sunday Night's Dinner Postponed

For those AU students to whom I may have spoken about dinner, this Sunday night, I have postponed the dinner until Sunday, October 18. My apologies for the late notice. The reason is that I am deep into preparations for a six week trip out of the country, with personal matters to wrap up before I leave and a presentation at a State Department - US Institute of Peace day-long roundtable on Sri Lanka in on Monday. Here is the complete dinner schedule for the fall. For those of you within easy distance of the AU Campus, put them your calendar. Because of space and food limitations, there will be signups in advance, but all are welcome. The schedule and menus follow:

FACULTY RESIDENT’S DINNERS - FALL 2009

DINNERS ARE ON SUNDAY NIGHT AND BEGIN AT 8PM (EXCEPT FOR DEC 6) IN THE ANDERSON FIRST FLOOR ‘STYLE LOUNGE’

VOLUNTEERS WHO WOULD LIKE TO HELP SERVE ARE WELCOME TO COME AT 7:15 PM. FOR THOSE STAYING TO HELP WITH DISHES WE NORMALLY FINISH BY 10:30 PM AT THE LATEST.

THERE ARE ALWAYS VEGETARIAN OPTIONS. THERE ARE ALWAYS KLONDIKE BARS, POPSICLES AND FRESH FRUIT FOR DESSERT

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18 - LINGUINI WITH MEAT AND SAUSAGE SAUCE, GARLIC BREAD AND CHEF SALAD.

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 1 - SRI LANKAN CHICKEN AND VEGETABLE CURRIES WITH RICE AND DHAL

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 8 - MEAT AND VEGETARIAN LASAGNA. ITALIAN SALAD AND GARLIC BREAD.

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 15 - PEKING DUCK. VEGETARIAN DISH WILL BE BAKED PORTOBELLO MUSHROOMS WITH BRIE. THERE WILL ALSO BE A CHINESE VEGETABLE DISH.

SUNDAY DECEMBER 6 – [BEGNS AT 6:45] STANDING RIB ROAST AND YORKSHIRE PUDDING. ROAST POTATOES. VEGETARIAN DISH, BOILED CARROTS, CABBAGE AND TURNIPS (CLASSIC ENGLISH WINTER VEGETABLES, BUT WITH SPECIAL SEASONING)
